Adventure: Watson Mill Bridge State Park — Comer, GA

title photo

This past Sunday, we had beautiful weather in Georgia!  High of 65*, gentle breeze, and just a few clouds in the sky. 🙂  So, we decided to spend the day at Watson Mill, one of our favorite local parks.  The Watson Mill Bridge is actually the longest covered bridge in the state & was built in 1885!  I LOVE taking photos of it, hearing it creak and smelling the oh so sweet scent of the aged wood while walking across it.  mmmm!  Well, without further ado, here are some photos from the visit. We went on a short 2.5 mile hike in the woods (part of it ran along the South Fork River — so relaxing), ate lunch at the picnic tables, then had some fun with the fast setting on my camera…

  1. I love the heart shaped hole in the tree at the beginning of this gallery! I almost missed the little lizard on the twig. How did you do the photo where John looks like he is floating in air? And…you have to tell me…did he make the jump across the creek? Ahsamon, I really like this group of photographs! They look so peaceful. Nice work!

    • Thank you! To take the photos of John appearing mid-air, I set the shutter speed really high and used the burst photo setting, so that it took several photos with each jump off of the picnic table. Oh, and he did make every jump across the creek, though it did get a little muddy. 😉
